My child, if you come to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for testing. Set your heart straight, be steadfast, and don’t act hastily in a time of distress.

Hold fast to God and don’t keep your distance from him, so that you may find strength at your end. Accept whatever happens to you, and be patient when you suffer humiliation, because gold is tested with fire, and acceptable people are tested in the furnace of humiliation.

Trust him, and he will help you; make your ways straight, and hope in him. (Sirach 2:1‭-‬6)

Just as shepherds watch over their sheep, you must watch over everyone God has placed in your care. Do it willingly in order to please God, and not simply because you think you must. Let it be something you want to do, instead of something you do merely to make money. (1 Peter 5:2)

The love of money causes all kinds of trouble. Some people want money so much that they have given up their faith and caused themselves a lot of pain. (1 Timothy 6:10)

God has also given each of us different gifts to use. If we can prophesy, we should do it according to the amount of faith we have. If we can serve others, we should serve. If we can teach, we should teach. If we can encourage others, we should encourage them. If we can give, we should be generous. If we are leaders, we should do our best. If we are good to others, we should do it cheerfully. (Romans 12:6‭-‬8)

If there is anything hidden about our message, it is hidden only to someone who is lost. The god who rules this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers. They cannot see the light, which is the good news about our glorious Christ, who shows what God is like. (2 Corinthians 4:3‭-‬4)

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

The LORD hates every liar, but he is the friend of all who can be trusted. (Proverbs 12:22)

Fight to the death on behalf of truth, and the Lord God will fight for you. (Sirach 4:28)
