Stay away from your enemies, and be careful with your friends.

Trustworthy friends are a strong shelter; whoever finds one has found a treasure.

Trustworthy friends have no price, and no one can estimate their worth.

Trustworthy friends are life’s medicine, and those who fear the Lord will find them. Those who fear the Lord will direct their friendships well, because they will associate with people of like mind. (Sirach 6:13‭-‬17 CEB)

But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked. (LUKE 6:35 AMP)

~‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me [with help and ministering care]; I was in prison, and you came to Me [ignoring personal danger].’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’ (MATTHEW 25:35‭-‬36‭, ‬40 AMP)

‘You shall not take revenge nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor (acquaintance, associate, companion) as yourself; I am the Lord . (LEVITICUS 19:18 AMP)

Never repay anyone evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and gracious and proper in the sight of everyone. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], “Vengeance is Mine , I will repay ,” says the Lord. B ut if your enemy is hungry , feed him ; if he is thirsty , give him a drink ; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on his head .” Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good. (ROMANS 12:17‭-‬21 AMP)

Those who are vengeful will suffer the Lord’s vengeance, because the Lord keeps strict count of their sins. Forgive your neighbor a wrong, and then, when you pray, your sins will be forgiven. (Sirach 28:1‭-‬2 CEB)

“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one [the only God]! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being].

These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.

And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand (forearm), and they shall be used as bands (frontals, frontlets) on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (DEUTERONOMY 6:4‭-‬9 AMP)

Everyone who is proud and arrogant in heart is disgusting and exceedingly offensive to the Lord ; Be assured he will not go unpunished. (PROVERBS 16:5 AMP)

You rebuke the presumptuous and arrogant, the cursed ones, Who wander from Your commandments. (PSALM 119:21 AMP)

Haughty and arrogant eyes and a proud heart, The lamp of the wicked [their self-centered pride], is sin [in the eyes of God]. (PROVERBS 21:4 AMP)

(1 Pierre 5:5‭-‬7 PDV2017)
