Afghan officials: Kabul bomb targets VP, kills 10 civilians | CTV NewsA bombing in the Afghan capital on Wednesday targeted the convoy of the country’s first vice president, who suffered minor injuries in the attack that killed 10 people and wounded at least 31, including several of the vice president’s bodyguards, the Interior Ministry said.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing and the Taliban quickly denied they were behind the attack. First Vice President Amrullah Saleh suffered minor burns in the blast. The bomb was hidden in a cart by the roadside and detonated as his convoy passed by. Read more HERE.

Gas pipeline blast kills 16 praying at Bangladesh mosqueAn underground gas pipeline near a mosque exploded during evening prayers outside Bangladesh's capital, leaving 16 Muslim worshipers dead and dozens injured with critical burns, officials said Saturday.

Navalny, a Kremlin critic and corruption investigator, fell ill on a flight to Moscow on Aug. 20 and was taken to a hospital in the Siberian city of Omsk. He has been in an induced coma in a Berlin hospital since he was flown to Germany for treatment more than a week ago. Read more HERE

Coronavirus: Former Italy PM Silvio Berlusconi in hospital after testing  positive - Kingdom FMItaly’s former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi is being treated in hospital for Covid-19. Berlusconi, who is 84 this month, was taken to the San Raffaele hospital in Milan on Thursday night as a precautionary measure. He has not been admitted to intensive care.

“He has a bit of a cough and obviously because of his age it was better that the symptoms are taken care of in hospital,” said Deborah Bergamini, a deputy with Berlusconi’s Forza Italia party. Read more HERE

Zimbabwe investigates mysterious deaths of 11 elephants - The Globe and MailParks authorities in Zimbabwe are investigating the mysterious death of 11 elephants in a forest in the west of the country after ruling out cyanide poisoning and poaching.

The carcasses of the elephants were discovered on Friday in Pandamasue forest, located between Hwange national park and Victoria Falls. Blood samples have been taken to a laboratory for analysis to determine the cause of their deaths, said Tinashe Farawo, a spokesman for the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.
