3,000 sheep die after live exports rejected by Saudi Arabia ...Animals died of hunger and thirst after 58,000 returned to Sudan due to quarantine compromise

Around 3,000 sheep sent back from Saudi Arabia by ship to Sudan have died of hunger and thirst according to a Sudanese government minister. Some drowned on the voyage.

Saudi Arabia returned 58,000 sheep to Sudan after finding out that quarantine procedures in Sudan had been compromised, leaving some animals without vaccination against diseases including Rift Valley fever. Read more HERE.

By sea, rail or by air, Brits scramble to get out of France ...Cars lined up at ports while trains and planes filled out fast as British tourists scurried to get out of France on Friday before a deadline that would require them to quarantine at home for two weeks.

Families cut summer vacations short and other travelers made hasty plans to return to the U.K. by whatever means possible before the 4 a.m. Saturday deadline. Eurostar trains between Paris and London and airport lounges that were almost empty earlier in the coronavirus pandemic filled with passengers. Those with more means opted for private jets. Oil spill threatens disaster for Mauritius - Global Ecosocialist ...People living in Mauritius have described the devastation caused by an oil spill from a stranded vessel and called for urgent international help to stop the ecological and economic damage overwhelming the island nation.

More than 1,000 tonnes of fuel has already seeped from the bulk carrier MV Wakashio into the sea off south-east Mauritius, polluting the coral reefs, white-sand beaches and pristine lagoons that attract tourists from around the world. Read more HERE.

Tributes for Bromley train driver killed in Aberdeen crash | News ...Passenger, driver and conductor killed after four carriages leave track in flood-hit area

Three people have died after a passenger train derailed near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire following a night of thunderstorms and torrential rainfall. The three dead were the driver, conductor and a passenger. Six other people were taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be serious. Emergency services were called to the scene at 9.43am after four passenger carriages came off the track at Carmont, just west of Stonehaven.
