The country’s prime minister, Abiy Ahmed, has condemned what he described as “horrific acts” in Oromia, but has not given any details of the violence. “Attacks on innocent civilians and destruction of livelihoods by illegal and irregular forces is unacceptable,” Abiy said on Twitter on Monday, pledging “zero tolerance for horrific acts … by elements whose main objective is to terrorise communities.” Read more HERE.

Shock and horror across Asia as China Eastern Boeing 737 with 133 people on board  crashes in southwest ChinaBEIJING, March 21 (Reuters) - A China Eastern Airlines (600115.SS) passenger jet with 133 people on board crashed in the mountains of southern China on Monday while on a flight from the city of Kunming to Guangzhou,
The jet involved in the accident was a Boeing 737 aircraft and the number of casualties was not immediately known, state broadcaster CCTV said. Rescue services were on their way to the scene, it said. There was no word on the cause of the crash.
